Setup guide

How to set up IPTV — the complete guide

The process is the same on every device: get your login, install a player app, enter your details, load the guide. Here it is in full, plus what to do before you start.

Setting up IPTV sounds technical. It isn't. If you can install an app and type a password, you can do this in about five minutes. The exact taps differ by device — but the shape is always the same.

The easiest way: use IBO Player, our recommended player. You install one app, open it, send us two codes on WhatsApp, and we configure your authorized playlist — no URLs to paste. Start at the IBO Player setup hub.

This page is the more general walkthrough for players that use a username, password and server URL.

Before you start

  • Check your internet. You want a stable 15 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps or more for 4K, per stream. A wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi is best, especially for live sport. See internet requirements.
  • Have your welcome email open. It contains your username, password and server URL (sometimes called portal or M3U URL), and often a QR code and the name of the recommended player app for your device.
  • Pick your device. Fire TV Stick, Smart TV, Android box, Apple TV, phone or computer — any of them works.

The four steps

  1. Get your subscription or trial. Choose a plan or request the 24-hour free trial. Payment (Interac e-Transfer or card) is confirmed, and your login details are emailed to you — usually within about five minutes, always the same day.

  2. Install a player app. Each platform has a preferred IPTV player. Your welcome email names the current recommendation. On some devices (Fire TV, older Smart TVs) you install it from the app store; on others you side-load it with a helper app. The device guides show exactly which app and how.

  3. Enter your login. Open the player and choose Add playlist, Xtream Codes login, or Login with code:

    • Xtream / playlist login: type the server URL, username and password exactly as in your email. They're case-sensitive.
    • QR code: scan the code from your welcome email with a phone/tablet player — fastest by far.
    • Portal (MAC) devices (MAG, some Formuler): send us the device's MAC address first; we enable it, then you enter the portal URL.
  4. Load the guide and watch. The player downloads the channel list and a 7-day electronic programme guide. Give it a minute or two on first launch. Then set your Favourites so your channels rise to the top, and press play.

What to expect once you're watching

  • Channels start in 2–3 seconds, and the player picks the best quality your connection can hold, stepping between 4K, FHD and HD on its own.
  • A full 7-day programme guide, with 7-day catch-up on supported channels, so you can roll back a game or a show you missed.
  • The same login on any of your devices, including on Wi-Fi away from home. Your plan sets how many can stream at the same time, from 1 to 5.
  • Help if you want it. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll set it up with you, step by step.

First-run checklist

  • [ ] Guide populated with channel names and programme times
  • [ ] A live channel plays within 2–3 seconds of selecting it
  • [ ] A live sports channel holds steady for 10+ minutes at peak time
  • [ ] Favourites set on the device you use most

If all four are true, you're done. If not:

If something's wrong

ProblemFirst thing to try
"Login failed"Re-type credentials exactly; confirm the subscription/trial is active in your email
App won't installUse the device guide — some platforms need side-loading
BufferingWire the connection or move to 5 GHz; see fix buffering
Empty or partial guideWait a few minutes, then force an EPG refresh; see EPG setup
One channel downUsually a temporary source issue — try again shortly or tell support

Still stuck after that? Message support with your device model and a photo of the screen. Most setups are finished in one short conversation.
