IPTV on MAG

MAG set-top boxes use portal (MAC address) activation rather than a login. They're simple and stable once configured, but there's a small back-and-forth to set up.

MAG boxes (and STB-emulator clones) don't use a username and password. They authenticate by MAC address against a portal URL. That means a one-time step where you send us the box's MAC and we enable it.

Models

ModelNotes
MAG 322 / 324 / 424Common, reliable for HD.
MAG 524 / 544Newer, faster, better for 4K.
MAG 254 / 256Older; HD only; still works.
Android "MAG-style" clonesMay need STB Emulator configured with the portal — ask support.

What you need

  • The MAG box connected to your TV and to the internet (Ethernet preferred).
  • The box's MAC address — printed on a sticker underneath, and shown in Settings → System settings → About.
  • The portal URL from your welcome email.

Setup (overview)

  1. Send your MAC address to support. Wait for confirmation that it's enabled.
  2. On the box: Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
  3. Set Portal 1 name to anything (e.g. "IPTVSMART") and Portal 1 URL to the portal address we gave you.
  4. Save, then reboot the box (or Restart Portal).
  5. The channel list and guide load automatically.

Performance tips

  • Ethernet. MAG Wi-Fi dongles are weak; a wired connection avoids most complaints.
  • If the portal is slow to load, reboot the box fully (power off at the wall for 30 seconds).
  • Keep the firmware updated from Settings → Software update — but only over Ethernet.
